At 1A First Alternative we are looking for a DevOps Specialist to help us provide SMEs with top-class ICT. As a DevOps Specialist, you contribute to monitoring and improving our security, infrastructure and performance.

What will your job be?

As a DevOps Specialist you are responsible for managing and expanding our Proxmox-based cloud platform. You also manage our Linux servers and the various services we offer with them. You spend part of your time on projects, and occasionally you help the support department solve difficult problems with Linux systems or questions about Linux in combination with Windows.

Part of your work involves installing and updating Debian servers, configuring various applications, writing scripts in Bash, Python and/or Perl, and working with SaltStack automation.

What core competencies do you have?

• good communications and social skills;
• independent, enthusiastic, enterprising, stress-resistant and flexible;
• at least two years of recent experience in a similar position (medior);
• a good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written;
• strong analytical skills and a ‘measuring=knowing’ mentality;
• able to set the right priorities and be able to switch quickly;
• experience with Linux (Debian) and scripting in Bash and Python;
• Knowledge of PHP and Perl is a bonus.
