Recently, we have released version 3.0 of the Phonetool. This release features improvements which make using 1A-telephony with this useful program even faster. Attention has also been paid to improving the uniformity of the various components.
Thorough restructuring of the underlying layer
The Phonetool is seen by users as a very convenient and pleasant application. Yet there has been some feedback that the responsiveness should be improved. In order to solve this problem, we have split the application into two layers: the frontend (HTML/Javascript) and the backend (PHP). All communication between these two layers is done asynchronously (independently, possibly parallel) in a modern language designed for this purpose (JSON). An additional advantage of this division is that complete page refreshes are no longer needed. All this ensures that the entire Phonetool has become a lot more responsive.
Call history
The design of the call history has been dissimilar from the rest of the Phonetool for some time. Therefore, we also took this opportunity to bring it more into line with the rest of the Phonetool.
1A-manuals
Because there have been no functional changes in the Phonetool, the 1A-manuals for the Phonetool have not been updated.
