ScanCoveryTrial - Scandinavian Car Adventure

1A First Alternative is working hard on brand awareness. One campaign is focussed on sponsorship of the ScanCoveryTrial 2013. A nice secondary goal is supporting a number of charities.

The ScanCoveryTrial is definitely not a race or rally race but a car tour where a strict observance of traffic rules is essential for the competitive element. This edition is driven from Friday, January 4th until Saturday, January 12th, 2013 and crosses Scandinavia in seven days: more than 7000 km in conditions with lots of snow, ice and temperatures that can drop to minus 40 degrees Celsius! Besides navigation via coordinates ScanCoveryTrial also uses a RouteBook with unique stages.

Each year the ScanCoveryTrial collects sponsorship money for charity. This edition donations from sponsors and participants will directly and 1:1 be donated to the Dutch ALS foundation Stichting A.L.S. This foundation is committed to more research and better control of the rare disease ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a fatal muscle and nerve disease that far too little is known about.

1A First Alternative sponsors team OCV (OccasionCenterValkenswaard) which consists of Mark Scheepers and Henry van Overveld.

The sponsorship funds of the car to go to Stichting Heartbeat. This foundation provides assistance to families with a child that has to undergo life-saving surgery due to heart conditions. It offers families who have to go through this ordeal the chance to have some fun and relaxation by organising a holiday or a fun day out. It is also committed to get more defibrillators on the streets.

During the ScanCoveryTrial 2013, the program “Hart van Nederland” of the Dutch station SBS6 will pay attention to the more than 30 different charities that are linked to the event. The SBS6 camera crew will be present at the experience day in Rosmalen and during the start on January 4th in Ulft.
Some Dutch celebrities will also make an appearance. Desiree (Desray) Manders (2 Brothers on the 4th Floor) will participate in the ScanCoveryTrial 2013 together with rally racer Mark Steijger.

All participants and visitors of the start event will receive a goodie bag in which the 1A First Alternative ice scraper of course must not be missing.
